Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Dies in a Los Angeles Car Crash
The visionary game developer, the mind behind the wildly popular franchise Call of Duty, has died in a traffic collision in California aged 55.
His passing was announced by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the video game company which he helped establish.
The renowned video game developer lost his life when his car crashed and was engulfed in flames on a highway in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, US media outlets report.
"This is a heartbreaking loss, and we stand with his family and friends, his loved ones, and the countless individuals inspired by his work," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts stated.
