19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts

A comeback the Russian player won his first trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has endured a torrid season, managing just one win at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.

His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.

Presently training with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive triumph over opponent Moutet.

This marks his first championship after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface from that period of that year.

Success also indicates he has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one various events.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my two daughters together, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the first title I got when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.

His retrieving play style and regular reactions on the playing surface had caused commentators to doubt if his skill to compete at the elite level was finished.

But the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to come to the net and play assertively, backed up by an better serving game.

The champion came back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, securing 4 of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.

Both players exchanged break points in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden tour title, gained dominance to push for a third set.

The opponent rescued 4 early-game opportunities in a competitive final set before the Russian secured a break to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev secured the title with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
