Approximately 25,000 households in south-east Queensland found themselves without power on the start of the week after intense storm systems impacted the area, generating powerful gusts hitting 109km/h.

Locals witnessed substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities verified that multiple regions across Queensland had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were working to restore power throughout the affected regions, with approximately seventy teams activated to handle the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victoria's Weather Woes
At the same time, approximately 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also experienced power outages after the metropolitan area recorded its wettest day in over 500 days.
Emergency response teams received 598 calls for help across the area, mainly for structural issues but also for downed trees and inundation.

During the peak on yesterday, in excess of twenty-eight thousand electricity consumers in Victoria were lacking electricity.
Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along significant areas of eastern Queensland this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
Tomorrow was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with continued severe weather risk predicted across different parts of both areas.
Health Warning
Medical authorities warned that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
